Kevin O’Rourke Moore specializes in civil litigation and appeals, primarily related to contracts, trusts, corporate, construction and general business matters. He graduated cum laude from Iona College with a Bachelor of Arts degree and received his Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University Law School in 1977. Mr. Moore clerked for Justice Nathaniel T. Helman of the New York State Supreme Court before working as an associate attorney for the Proskauer Rose firm in New York City. After leaving Proskauer Rose in 1979 he assisted full-time with SCM Corporation’s appeal of the decision by which the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut had denied SCM’s challenge to alleged monopolization in the market for plain paper copiers [SCM v. Xerox, 463 F.Supp. 983, remand, 599 F.2d 32, 474 F.Supp. 589, remanded, 645 F.2d 1195 (2d Cir.1981)]. Mr. Moore thereafter continued to specialize in civil litigation, contracts, trusts, business and construction industry litigation as a partner in the law firm of Moriwaki & Moore, P.C. He also served as an Adjunct Professor in the Legal Assistant Program of Iona College’s School of General Studies from 1984 – 1991, and often acts as Referee by appointment of the NYS Supreme Court in Westchester County. Mr. Moore has successfully represented Japanese nationals and business entities in litigation in the NYS Supreme Court and Appellate Division, and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
