Personal Experience

Matthew Presseau represents individual and corporate clients in the areas of commercial & residential real estate, commercial lending, trusts and estates, matrimonial law, and litigation.


Notable cases include Abel v. Town Sports International, LLC, (Employment Discrimination – Jury Award of $300,000 on a personal trainer’s hostile work environment claims against New York Sports Club) and In re Estate of Shoichiro Hama (Estate Litigation – successfully represented parents of decedent petitioning the Surrogate’s Court to disqualify a surviving spouse who had abandoned the decedent prior to his death and married another man).


Prior to forming Miki Dixon & Presseau, PLLC, he worked with firms in New York City and Tokyo (Kojima Law Office) concentrating in dispute resolution and litigation. Mr. Presseau is admitted to practice in New York and the Southern and Easter Districts of New York, and is a member of the New York City Bar Association.


Conversationally fluent in Japanese.


Education

Mr. Presseau is a graduate of the University of Rochester (B.A. History, minor in Japanese), Columbia University (M.A. Religion), and the Northeastern University School of Law (J.D.)
